Partner, Notion Capital
Jos is an entrepreneur turned investor and currently a partner at Notion Capital, a venture capital firm focused on enterprise SaaS/Cloud. He is also an angel investor.
Before Notion Jos co-founded, built and exited three businesses with his brother Ben – RBR Networks, Star and MessageLabs. Star was one of the UK’s first ISP’s and was acquired by Claranet for $88m. MessageLabs, founded in 2000, was the first company in the world to deliver anti-virus and anti-spam in the Cloud and apply a more data driven, predictive approach to identifying malware. In 2008 MessageLabs was acquired by Symantec for $700m, a landmark transaction in the emerging software-as-a service (‘SaaS’) sector.
In 2010, Jos co-founded Notion with three other partners to invest in the B2B SaaS/Cloud market across Europe. The team believe that their experience of scaling large, global SaaS/Cloud businesses gives them an ‘unfair advantage’ for evaluating deals and supporting portfolio companies. Notion now has more than $300m in funds under management and an exciting portfolio of companies that includes Adbrain, Currency Cloud, Duedil, GoCardless, Move Guides, NewVoiceMedia, Tradeshift and Workable. Jos is also an active angel investor and has invested in companies such as Bench, Gamechanger, JustWorks, Splash, The Book of Everyone, Tripplemint and Tylko.
Jos lives in London with his wife, Annabel, and three children Freddie, Ophelia and Sammy. When he’s not working he loves to run, read, golf and cook.
